Tazheran steppe
Tazheran steppe, a part of the national park, runs along the road from Irkutsk to Maloe More. You drive off the road and find yourself in a landscape resembling images from Mars: flat surface of the steppe and some lonely mountains in the background: Tan-Khan, Yekhe-Erdo, Sakhurte and the Ancient Dragon’s Spine. Since Tazheran steppe was a favourite place of Buryats in the bygone times for summer migration, one can find here a big number of enigmatic petroglyphs, mysterious caves and sacred relics of the local people.
